Elite Mission Hospital has been started on 7.11.1979 with twenty beds and two departments – medical & Paediatrics.  Gradually, as the number of patients increased, the beds also increased step by step by 1981, and the Nsg. School has been started with an intake of 10 students per year with 120 beds.  Still as the number of beds increased the intake of students has also been raised to 15 per year from 1987 onwards.  Further, the intake has been increased to 20 in 1989, and 22 from 1993 onwards.  Again the hospital flourished with various specialty / super specialty departments as – Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Gastrointestinal Surgery, Urology, Neurology, Neuro Surgery, Plastic Surgery Medical Oncology and burns department and automatically the number of beds in the hospital slo increased to 350.  Accordingly from 1994 onwards the intake of GNM students has been raised to 30, and from 1999 onwards 35-students/ year.

The first principal was Mrs. K.V. Marykutty, and she had been in the office for only a short period of 2 years from 1981 onwards.  She was followed by Mrs. C.Subhadramma for another two years and then she was replaced by Sri. T. Ravivarma, until 1995 September.  From October 1995 Smt. Mariamma Samuel is the Principal.

 Apart from the GNM Course, the institution aquired sanction to conduct the FHW Course from 1986 onwards with an intake of 15 students in a batch.  The duration of the course is 18 months.  Mrs. E.I. Meenakshy, was the Principal of that course from 1986 till 1996 and she retired from the service.  After both GNM Course and FHW course are under one head till date.

 With regard to the education of the students, we have experienced, dynamic teachers who are after the students in the school, clinical field and in the hostel.  As a result they bring about a result, which is not bad.

 Every alternate months SNA unit meetings are conducted with varying educational and cultural programmers to promote their proficiency in leadership abilities, education and extra curricular activities.  Students are actively participating in the competition conducted at the zonal and state level, in connection with a SNA activities and they were awarded with many prizes.

 Apart from the above, educational tones are arranged batchwise every year and students have opportunities to visit various important places in and around the state.  So also arrangement is made to visit various

social organization as Damian Institute at Mulayam, SOS homes, Agathymandiram, Deliquent Homes, Jail etc.

On the whole measures are taken for the all round development of each and every student.
